Vacancy - Treasurer for the Callide Valley Landcare
5th and 6th of March 2010 State Farm Rd Tree Planting Days The Callide Valley Landcare will be holding tree planting days on the Friday the 5th of March 2010 with the local schools and on the Saturday the 6th of March 2010 we are inviting the community to participate with a BBQ and cold drinks provided as well as the official opening at midday. Everybody is welcome to participate or to just come along and watch.

Callide Valley Landcare Nursery needs volunteers We need volunteers to help with potting up and weeding or any other assistance you are able to provide. The nursery sells many thousands of cheap trees each year, all due to volunteers. State Farm Rd Callide Valley Landcare has been approved to plant alongside the new northern end of State Farm Rd in conjunction with the Banana Shire Council, Ergon Energy, and Greening Australia. This will occur on the 5th and 6th of March, more details will be made available as they come to hand. Jemena/Landcare Australia Funding for Callide Valley Nursery and Softwood Project We have been successful in our application for funding to upgrade the nursery for the purposes of saving water and making the nursery more amenable to volunteers as well as signage to increase awareness of Callide Valley Landcare activities and for plant identification. State Landcare Awards Recently the group nominated Robyn Mapp for the state land care awards. They were held on 1st September, 2009. Robyn came first for the individual land carer!!!! This means she automatically is entered into the Australian Awards next year. We wish Robyn all the best and we will keep you posted on the results. Well done Robyn!!!
