Nursery

The Callide Valley Landcare Nursery is a non-profit native plant nursery that sells native trees and shrubs to members, councils, industry, and the community.

It is run by volunteers and has been in operation now for ten years. There is always a need for helpers in the nursery. We sell a wide variety of trees and shrubs that occur locally or at least within the region.

Trees and shrubs grown include species from Brigalow, Vine Thicket (Softwood Scrub), Eucalypt, and riparian plant communities within the area and includes a number of endangered or vulnerable species grown under DERM licencing.

The tree and shrub species we grow are suited to restoration and revegetation projects, farm forestry, on farm use, park and large garden plantings, or just for specimen trees for the gardener with a big backyard.

Our experienced local volunteer nursery manager Lindsay Daniels can also give plant descriptions and advice on best planting times, methods and sight suitability for the species we sell. A lot of this information is available in our booklets in addition much of this information will eventually be made available on line.

We have recently received funding from Jemena/Landcare Australia to undertake expansion of the nursery to enable us to meet larger orders, to make it more water efficient, and make it more amenable to our volunteers including members of Bluecare.
